私たちの取り組む課題
五十嵐威暢美術館かぜのびは、北海道新十津川町の旧校舎を活用した小さな美術館です。地域に根ざしながらも、世界的に活躍された彫刻家・デザイナー五十嵐威暢さんの創作活動を受け継ぎ、アートを通じた学びとつながりの場を提供しています。
私たちが現在取り組んでいる課題は、次のようなものです：
■ 地方の芸術文化拠点の継続と発展
人口減少が進む地域において、美術館の運営を持続可能に保つことは容易ではありません。指定管理者として限られた期間と予算の中で、地域に開かれた施設を維持し、多くの人に来館してもらうための工夫が求められています。
■ 子どもたちや多様な背景をもつ人々への芸術体験の提供
都市部とは違い、地方では専門的なアート教育やワークショップに触れる機会が限られています。私たちは、月1回のミニワークショップや学校での出張授業、障がいのある方や特別な配慮を必要とする方も含め、誰もが安心して楽しめる創作の場づくりに力を入れています。
■ アーティストとの出会いや学びの場の確保
地域に暮らす人々がプロのアーティストと出会い、共に創作できる機会は貴重です。私たちは道内外の作家と連携し、アート塾や個展、ワークショップなどを継続して開催していますが、講師招聘や運営にかかる費用の確保が大きな課題です。
■ 継続的な支援基盤の構築
活動を支えてくださる支援者は年々増えていますが、まだ十分とは言えません。より多くの方に「共感」していただき、寄付や賛助会員として応援していただける体制づくりが今後の重要なテーマです。
「アートは特別な人のものではなく、誰もがふれられるもの」
この考えのもと、かぜのびは小さくても温かな拠点として、これからも風のように自由な表現の場を広げていきます。
Igarashi Takenobu Museum of Art Kazenobi is a small art museum housed in a former school building in Shintotsukawa, Hokkaido. Rooted in the local community, the museum carries forward the creative legacy of internationally renowned sculptor and designer Takenobu Igarashi, offering a space for learning and connection through art.
We are currently working to address the following challenges:
■ Sustaining and Developing a Local Cultural Hub
In a depopulating region, keeping an art museum operational in a sustainable way is no easy task. As the designated management body, we strive to maintain an accessible space for the public and attract visitors, all within limited time and budget constraints.
■ Providing Artistic Experiences for Children and Diverse Audiences
Unlike urban areas, rural communities often lack access to specialized art education and creative workshops. We are committed to creating inclusive spaces for everyone through monthly mini-workshops, outreach classes in schools, and programs designed to welcome individuals with disabilities and those needing special accommodations.
■ Creating Encounters and Learning Opportunities with Artists
Opportunities to meet and create alongside professional artists are rare and precious in rural areas. We continue to host art classes, solo exhibitions, and workshops in collaboration with artists from inside and outside Hokkaido—but securing the necessary funding for guest artists and event logistics remains a pressing issue.
■ Establishing a Sustainable Support System
While our community of supporters is gradually growing, it is still not enough. One of our most important goals is to build a system that encourages more people to empathize with our mission and support us as donors or members.

With this belief at heart, Kazenobi aims to remain a small yet warm and welcoming base, gently expanding the reach of creative expression like the wind.
なぜこの課題に取り組むか
五十嵐威暢美術館かぜのびは、アートを「遠い世界の特別なもの」ではなく、日々の暮らしの中でふれられるものとして、すべての人に開いていきたいと考えています。
私たちが活動の中で出会ってきたのは、初めて筆を持ったこどもたちのまなざしや、障がいを持つ子どもとその家族がアートを通して心から笑顔になる瞬間、ふだん表現する機会の少ない地域の方々が思いきり創作に没頭する姿です。
それは、芸術が人に「自分であっていい」という安心感や自己肯定感を与える力を持っていることの証だと感じています。
しかし、こうした芸術体験の場は、地方では限られています。また、芸術文化に関わる人々が活動を続けていくための基盤もまだまだ脆弱です。
だからこそ、私たちは小さな町の小さな美術館から、アートの灯を絶やさず、少しずつでもひろげていくことに意味があると信じています。
この美術館が、誰かにとって「ほっとできる場所」「自分らしくいられる場所」「何かを始めるきっかけ」になれたら――
そんな想いで、日々活動を続けています。
At the Igarashi Takenobu Museum of Art Kazenobi, we believe that art should not be seen as something distant or reserved for a privileged few—but as something that can be part of everyday life, accessible to all.
Through our activities, we have witnessed the curious and focused gaze of children picking up a paintbrush for the first time; the pure joy on the faces of children with disabilities and their families as they engage with art; and the wholehearted immersion of local residents—many of whom rarely have the opportunity to express themselves creatively—into the process of making art.
These moments reaffirm our belief in the power of art to provide people with a sense of safety and self-worth—the reassurance that “it's okay to be yourself.”
Yet opportunities for such artistic experiences are still limited in rural areas. The foundation for those who work in the field of arts and culture remains fragile, making it difficult to sustain meaningful engagement.
That is precisely why we believe it is meaningful to keep the flame of art alive—even from a small museum in a small town—and to let it gradually spread.
If this museum can become, for someone, a place to feel at ease, a place to feel truly oneself, or a starting point for something new—
That hope is what keeps us going every day.

■ 子ども向けワークショップや出張授業の運営費
- 講師謝金や材料費、ワークショップ運営にかかる費用
- 年齢や経験、背景にかかわらず、誰もが安心して参加できるようなサポート体制の整備
■ アーティストとの協働プログラムの開催

- 滞在費・輸送費・広報費など、地域にアートを届けるための費用
■ 美術館運営にかかる基礎的な費用
- 展示空間やカフェの環境整備・設備の維持
- スタッフやボランティアの活動サポート（交通費・備品など）
- 来館者がより快適に過ごせるような環境づくり（サイン整備・空間調整等）
■ 誰もが楽しめるアート体験の充実
- 紙へのぬりえ体験など、無料で楽しめる日常的な体験コーナーの維持・拡充
- 地域住民との交流を深める、季節ごとのイベントや公開日の企画運営

■ Operating Costs for Children’s Workshops and School Outreach Programs
Covers instructor fees, material costs, and other expenses required to run workshops.

Funds are used for travel expenses, shipping costs, promotional efforts, and other needs essential for bringing art into the community.

Maintenance and improvement of exhibition spaces and the on-site café.
Support for staff and volunteers, including transportation and supplies.
Enhancements to make the museum more visitor-friendly, such as updated signage and better spatial design.
■ Expanding Inclusive Art Experiences
Maintaining and expanding accessible creative corners, such as free coloring activities on paper.
Planning and running seasonal events and open days that foster deeper connections with local residents.
