NPO法人AMDA国際医療情報センターは、日本で生活あるいは短期滞在中の外国人が診てもらうことのできる医療機関を多言語で案内しています。また遠隔手段による医療通訳も行っています。相談・通訳ともに料金は無料です。地域を限定することなく、全国どこからの相談でも受け付けています。外国人の医療についてお困りの日本人の方から相談いただくこともできます。（戦争・災害・貧困に苦しむ世界の人々に対して、保健・医療を中心とした人道支援をしている同名のAMDAとは別内容で活動していますのでお間違いのないようご注意ください）

日本で暮らす外国人の中には、言葉や費用の不安から、医療相談そのものをためらってしまう人が少なくありません。
AMDA国際医療情報センターは、こうした不安を少しでも減らすため、LINE電話での相談対応やフリーダイヤル（0120）による無料医療相談体制の確立を目指しています。

1991年任意団体として活動開始。2001年NPO法人登記。日本で生活する外国のための医療相談・遠隔医療通訳事業を多言語（英語・中国語・韓国語・スペイン語・ポルトガル語・タイ語・フィリピン語・ベトナム語・やさしい日本語）で行っている。

社会福祉士。主に子ども若者相談支援、多文化共生の分野に従事しています。臨床心理やカウンセリング、子どものマルチリンガル下の育ちと発達障害の関連に興味を持ち始めました。
傍ら、現代アーティストとしても細々と活動中です。

<h1>「救急で診てほしい」</h1>それでも受け入れてもらえない現実「救急だから、今すぐ病院に行きたいんです」多言語医療相談に寄せられる声の中には、切迫したものがあります。体調が悪く、不安で、今すぐ診てもらいたい。その気持ちは当然です。しかし、日本の医療制度における「救急」は、相談者が思い描くものとは必ずしも一致していません。<h3>「救急」とは何か——制度とのギャップ</h3>救急車で搬送されるレベルがひとつの目安です。高熱でつらい、強い痛みがある、動けないほど苦しい。それでも制度上は、まずは診療科を選び、クリニックを受診するのが基本的な流れになります。このギャップが、混乱を生みます。<h3>それでも急ぐべき症状はある</h3>一方で、急いで病院に行くべき症状も確実に存在します。たとえば尿閉（何時間も排尿できない状態）などは、放置すれば悪化する可能性があります。しかし、救急車を呼ぶほどではないと判断されることもあります。この「グレーゾーン」こそが、最も難しいのです。<h3>「受診前に電話を」という高い壁</h3>多くの病院では、救急車を使わずに受診する場合、「受診前にお電話でご相談ください」という運用になっています。しかし、その電話は日本語対応が前提です。日本語ができない外国人の方にとって、これは非常に高いハードルになります。<h3>医療機関とのやり取りは簡単ではない</h3>当センターでは、相談者に代わって医療機関へ電話することがあります。その際、求められる情報は多岐にわたります。<ul><li>現在の症状</li><li>既往歴</li><li>服用中の薬</li><li>アレルギー</li></ul>氏名、生年月日、連絡先私たちは相談者と電話をつなぎながら通訳し、医療機関との間を何度も往復します。それでも、「対応できる医師がいない」「今日は受け入れが難しい」と断られることが少なくありません。何軒も問い合わせて、ようやく受け入れ先が見つかる。それが現実です。<h3>つながるまで、あきらめない</h3>体調が悪い中で、自分の状況を説明できず、受け入れ先も見つからない。その不安を、私たちは電話越しに受け止めています。多言語医療相談は、単なる通訳ではありません。制度の理解、医療機関との調整、情報の整理、そして何より、あきらめずにつなぎ続けることです。<h3>ご支援が、この「つなぐ時間」を支えています</h3>こうした電話対応には、1件あたり長時間を要することも少なくありません。現在のクラウドファンディングでは、より多くの方が費用を気にせず相談できる体制を維持・強化するため、通話環境の整備を目指しています。「救急で診てほしい」という切実な声に、これからも応え続けるために。どうか、あたたかいご支援をお願いいたします。<h2>“I Need Emergency Care”</h2>Many callers to our multilingual medical consultation service urgently say, “I need to go to the hospital right now.”However, what qualifies as an “emergency” in Japan often differs from what patients expect. Emergency departments are generally reserved for life-threatening cases, and patients are usually expected to visit a clinic first.Even when symptoms require urgent attention, hospitals often ask patients to call in advance — in Japanese. For foreign residents who do not speak the language, this becomes a major barrier.Our team calls medical institutions on their behalf, interprets detailed medical information, and contacts multiple hospitals if necessary until we find one that can accept the patient.This work takes time, coordination, and persistence.Through our crowdfunding campaign, we are strengthening our consultation system so that more people can seek help without worrying about costs.Your support helps us continue connecting people to the care they urgently need.Thank you for standing with us.

「救急で診てほしい」

<h1>「病院に行ったのに、診てもらえなかった」</h1>そんな相談が、当センターには毎日のように寄せられます。「病院に行けば診てもらえると思っていた」それが通じなかったとき、外国人の方は強い不安と戸惑いを抱えます。<h3>なぜ「病院」で断られてしまうのか</h3>理由として挙げられるのは、主に次の3つです。<ul><li>日本語が通じない</li><li>予約をしていない</li><li>紹介状がない</li></ul>ただ、これらをそのまま伝えられても、日本の医療制度を知らない方にとっては、「なぜ？」が解消されないままです。<h3>「病院」と「クリニック」の違いが伝わらない</h3>日本では、医療機関は大きく「病院」 と 「診療所（クリニック）」 に分かれています。クリニックでも、診察や基本的な検査・治療は可能です。より専門的な検査や入院が必要な場合に、クリニックから病院へ紹介状を書いてもらう――これが、日本の医療の一般的な流れです。しかし、外国人の方の中には「クリニックの医療は信用できない」という感覚を持つ方も少なくありません。背景には、母国の医療事情や医療文化の違いがあります。<h3>受付で立ちはだかる「言葉の壁」</h3>制度の説明以前に、多くの医療機関の受付では日本語以外の対応が難しく、最初の窓口で会話が成立しないという状況が起こります。結果として、「どうすれば受診できるのか分からないまま帰る」というケースも少なくありません。<h3>私たちの役割は「行ける医療」につなぐこと</h3>私たちは、<ul><li>なぜ受診できなかったのかを整理し</li><li>今、その人が実際に受診できる医療機関を探し</li><li>必要な準備や流れを丁寧に伝えます</li></ul>「病院に行けなかった」という出来事の背景には、制度・文化・言語が複雑に絡み合った課題があります。多言語医療相談は、その“見えにくい壁”を一つずつ取り除くための窓口です。<h3>ご支援が、次の相談につながります</h3>現在実施中のクラウドファンディングでは、より多くの方が、費用を気にせず相談できる環境を整えるため、通話料負担の軽減を目指しています。「病院に行きたいのに行けない」そんな声に、これからも応え続けるために。どうか、あたたかいご支援をお願いいたします。<h1>“I went to the hospital, but they wouldn’t see me.”</h1>We receive consultations like this almost every day.“I thought if I went to a hospital, I would be treated.”When that expectation is not met, many foreign residents experience deep anxiety and confusion.<h3>Why Are People Turned Away at “Hospitals”?</h3>The most common reasons given are:<ul><li>They cannot communicate in Japanese</li><li>They do not have an appointment</li><li>They do not have a referral letter</li></ul>However, simply stating these reasons does not resolve the underlying question of “Why?” for those unfamiliar with Japan’s healthcare system.<h3>The Difference Between a “Hospital” and a “Clinic”</h3>In Japan, medical institutions are broadly divided into:<ul><li>Hospitals, and</li><li>Clinics (primary care facilities)</li></ul>Clinics are fully capable of providing consultations, examinations, and basic treatments.If more specialized tests or hospitalization are required, patients are typically referred from a clinic to a hospital.This is the standard pathway within Japan’s healthcare system.However, some foreign residents feel that “clinic-level care cannot be trusted.”This perception often stems from differences in medical systems and healthcare culture in their home countries.<h3>The Language Barrier at Reception</h3>Even before explaining how the system works, another obstacle arises.At many medical institutions, communication in languages other than Japanese is difficult.
