国連ユニタール広島事務所は、2010年以降、延べ190名以上の広島県内の高校生らを対象に、現在の国際社会における課題や課題に対する国連の取り組みなどに対する理解を深め、将来彼らが国際舞台において活躍するために必要とされるスキルを身に着けることを目的とし、広島県の支援を受けて「国連ユニタール広島青少年大使育成プログラム」を実施してきました。国際的な問題や持続可能な開発目標(SDGs)、軍縮や平和構築等をテーマとしています。国連ユニタールの日本国内における公式支援団体として、国連ユニタール協会はこの広島での事業の実施に連携して取り組んでいます。
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Hiroshima Office, in collaboration with the UNITAR Association, has been running a Youth Ambassador Programme since 2010. This programme aims to empower high school students in Hiroshima to become future leaders in international peace and development. To date, the program has supported over 190 students primarily from Hiroshima Prefecture. Participants have deepened their understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN's efforts, including nuclear disarmament, to promote sustainable peace. As the official support organization of UNITAR in Japan, the UNITAR Association is supporting to implement this project in Hiroshima.

平和都市ヒロシマ広島では、2023年には、Ｇ7広島サミットを開催し、「核兵器のない世界」の実現を目指すヒロシマの存在を世界に向けて発信しました。また2024年には、日本原水爆被害者団体協議会がノーベル平和賞を受賞するなど、これまで以上に核兵器廃絶、戦争のない世界の実現に向けた活動の重要性が再確認されました。そして今年2025年に、被爆80年を迎えることにあたり、このような核兵器廃絶・世界恒久平和の実現に向けた取り組みと、それを推進していくことの必要性は、これまで以上に大きくなっています。
In 2023, Hiroshima, known as "Peace City," hosted the G7 Summit, where the leaders of the G7 countries agreed to strengthen disarmament and non-proliferation efforts. Their ultimate goal is to achieve a world without nuclear weapons while ensuring security for all. Notably, last year, Nihon Hidankyo, an organization that has committed this mission, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its significant contributions to peace advocacy. As the risks associated with nuclear weapons grow, so do the calls from advocates for a nuclear weapons-free world. In 2025, which marks the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings, the need for intergenerational cooperation to abolish nuclear weapons and achieve lasting peace is more pressing than ever.
こうした背景を考慮し、国連ユニタールはこれまで継続してきた広島のユース大使育成事業により一層力を入れていきます。戦争経験者や被爆者の高齢化が進んでいる現状を踏まえ、未来を築く若者たちに、核兵器廃絶を一つのテーマとした国際協力、平和構築の理解を深める研修を提供し、「私たち一人ひとりができること、市民としての責任」について考え国際平和に貢献できる人材の育成を目指し今年もプログラムを実施します。次世代を担う若者の育成にご協力をお願いいたします。
In light of these situations, UNITAR will continue the Youth Ambassador Programme. The number of atomic bomb survivors is steadily declining, and we must act now to convey their messages, especially to the younger generation. Our goal is to empower youth to create a responsible and hopeful future. Through this programme, UNITAR will provide youth with opportunities to understand the significance of individual actions as global citizens. We appreciate your support for this initiative to create more opportunities for youth to achieve their goals.

The training programme is short-term, lasting several months. Depending on the size of donation, further enhance the course, Reporting and Closing ceremony scheduled for the final day of the program to be open to public.
