はじめに

一般社団法人NatureLit Japan代表理事の矢動丸琴子です。

NatureLit Japanを法人化してから、1年が経ちました。

今回、1周年を記念してバースデードネーションのキャンペーンページを立ち上げました。

NatureLit Japan立ち上げの背景

NatureLit Japanを立ち上げる前、私は生物多様性の分野でユースとして5年間活動してきました。ユースとしての活動は決して順風満帆だったわけではなく、試行錯誤を重ね、辛いことも乗り越えながら、多くの方に支えられてここまで続けてきました。

ユースとしての活動をする中でずっと感じていたのが、

「やってみたいけど、何をしたらいいのかわからない」

「興味はあるけど、自分にはできないと思う」

という声の多さでした。

関心はある。でも最初の一歩の踏み出し方がわからない。

そのまま止まってしまう人がとても多いと感じてきました。

自分自身が苦労してきた経験も踏まえて、「行動したい人が行動できるよう一歩を後押しできる場」をつくりたいと思い、NatureLit Japanを立ち上げました。

「何をしたらいいかわからない」という悩みは、主に大学生を中心とするユースに多い傾向だと思いますが、これまで様々な方と関わってきた中で、年齢に関係なく、起こり得る悩みなのだと肌で感じています。

そのため、NatureLit Japanでは、「環境問題に対して自分も何かやってみたい」と思う方が一歩踏み出せるように、“やってみたい”で止まらない人を増やすことを目指しています。

環境活動をきっかけに、「自分にもできる」を育みたい

また同時に、環境活動をきっかけに、「自分にもできることがある」と感じられる人を増やしたいと考えています。

最近では、「エコ不安」と呼ばれるように、環境問題に対する不安や無力感、将来に対する不安感を抱えている人も増えています。

問題の大きさを知れば知るほど、「自分には何もできないのではないか」と感じてしまい、かえって行動に踏み出せなくなるケースも少なくありません。

実際に、海外の友人からも

「不安で何をしたら良いかわからないけど、何かしたいと思ったときに、あなたのような存在がいることが助けになる」

と言われたことがあります。

その言葉を聞いたときに、「私のような役割が必要なんだ」と強く感じました。

だからこそ、不安や迷いを抱えたままでも、“何かしたい”という気持ちを無理に大きな行動に変えるのではなく、小さくてもいいから一歩踏み出せるようなサポートが必要だと感じています。

「やってみたい」を「できる」に変えたい

2年目は特に、「継続して活動できる人」を増やしていくことに力を入れたいと考えています。

そのために、「やってみたい」を「できる」に変えるをコンセプトとした会員制度を開始することとしました。

会員制度は2026年5月1日からスタート予定です。

まずは、「自分にも何かできるかもしれない」と思えるきっかけをつくり、選択肢を広げるサポートをしていきたいと考えています。

その一方で、実際に「自分でできる」状態までつなげるには、もう一歩のサポートが必要だとも感じています。

そのため、会員制度の開始後も、「やってみたい」が「できる」に変わり、実際の行動につながる人を増やしていけるような仕組みづくりを引き続き行っていきたいと考えています。

いただいたご支援によって、「やってみたい」を「できる」に変えるための取り組みに、よりしっかり時間とエネルギーを注ぐことができるようになります。

現在は、活動や団体を維持するための業務と並行しながらの運営となっており、十分に時間を割くことができていないのが現状です。

今回のご支援により、会員制度の充実や、環境活動を始めたい人に向けたプログラムや機会づくりを通じて、多くの人にアクションのきっかけを届ける取り組みを、より安定して取り組めるようになります。また、これまで実施してきたイベントや情報発信などの活動についても、継続・発展させていくことができるようになります。

2年目を迎え、今後の活動を安定して続けていく上で重要なタイミングでもあるため、共感いただける方は無理のない範囲で応援いただけると大変心強いです。

NatureLit Japanの2年目の基盤を固め、代表が活動に専念するための運営費に使用させていただきます。

• プログラムやイベントの開催・開発費 （旅費・会場費・登壇者や協力者への謝金・資料代・ユース向けプログラムの開発費など）
• Webコンテンツ等の企画・作成費 （取材旅費・執筆謝金・情報発信にかかる費用など）

Introduction

Hello, I am Kotoko Yadomaru, President of NatureLit Japan (NLJ).

It has been one year since we officially incorporated NatureLit Japan. To celebrate our 1st anniversary, I have launched this birthday donation campaign page.

Background of NatureLit Japan

Before founding NatureLit Japan, I spent five years as a youth activist in the field of biodiversity. My journey was not always smooth; it was a series of trials and errors, overcoming hardships with the support of many people.

During my activities, I constantly heard voices saying:

"I want to try, but I don't know what to do."

"I'm interested, but I don't think I can do it myself."

Many people have an interest but don't know how to take the first step, so they stop there. Based on my own struggles, I founded NatureLit Japan to create a place that empowers those who want to act to take that first step. I have felt through my interactions with various people that this is a challenge that can happen regardless of age.

At NatureLit Japan, we aim to increase the number of people who don't stop at just "wanting to try" but actually take a step forward for the environment.

Fostering "I can do it" through Environmental Action

Recently, more people are experiencing "Eco-anxiety" - a sense of unease and helplessness regarding environmental issues.

In fact, a friend from overseas once told me:

"My friend was anxious and don't know what to do, but I think when he feels like he wants to do something, knowing someone like you exists is a huge help."

Hearing those words made me feel strongly that "this role is necessary."

That is why I believe it is essential to support people so they can take small steps, even while carrying anxiety or hesitation.

Turning "I want to try" into "I can do it"

In our second year, we are launching a new membership system (starting May 2026) to provide continuous support for those taking environmental actions.

We will continue to build a framework to increase the number of people whose "want to try" turns into "can do," leading to actual action.

What your support can achieve

Your support will allow me to devote more time and energy to initiatives that turn "I want to try" into "I can do it." With this support, I will be able to more stably deliver opportunities for action through enhancing the membership system and creating programs for those who want to start environmental activities.

Use of Funds

The funds will be used for the operating costs to solidify the foundation of NatureLit Japan's second year and to allow the representative to fully commit to these activities.

• Program/Event Development (Travel, venue fees, youth programs, etc.)
• Web Content Planning/Creation (Travel for interviews, writing fees, etc.)
• Membership & Organizational Strength (System fees, administrative fees, etc.)
• Maintenance & Operation (Activity maintenance fees to allow the representative to focus on NLJ, office rent, server fees, etc.)
