そのすべての活動の根底にあるのは、ジェーン博士の言葉「Every Individual Matters, Every Individual has a Role to Play, and Every Individual Can Make A Difference（生きとし生けるものすべてが大切な存在であり、役割があり、一人ひとりが変化を起こすことができる」という言葉です。
いま私たちは、より透明性と信頼性の高い団体として歩むため、将来的には認定NPO法人の取得を目指しています。
この挑戦は、継続的に支えてくださる方々とともにしか実現できません。
そのためには月500円以上のマンスリー寄付サポーターが年間100名必要です。

The Jane Goodall Institute Japan (NPO) has been working alongside young people through Roots & Shoots to create opportunities to explore and take action, with the vision of a world where people, animals, and nature live in harmony.
At the heart of all our activities lies Dr. Jane Goodall’s words: “Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual can make a difference.”
Today, we are taking steps toward becoming a more transparent and trustworthy organization, with the long-term goal of obtaining official certification as a recognized NPO.
This is a challenge we cannot achieve alone—it is only possible with the continued support of people like you. To make this vision a reality, we are seeking 100 monthly supporters, each contributing 500 yen or more per month.

NPO法人Jane Goodall Institue Japanは、新たな一歩を踏み出します。
いただいたご寄付は、子どもたちや若者が、身近な自然や社会の課題に出会い、自ら考え、行動する力を育む活動に活用されます。
具体的には、地域の課題と資源を見つめるコミュニティマッピングゲームやワークショップ、Roots & Shootsキックスタートコースやコーディネーターコース、学校現場での出張授業、全国のユースが集い、学びと発表を行うユースカンファレンスの開催、次の世代に届けるための教材開発、そして、フィールドワークを通じた自然保護活動など。多くの学校や地域からオファーをいただき、そのニーズの高まりを実感すると同時に、開催後にはものすごい可能性と希望を目撃しています。
さらに、Jane Goodall Instituteのグローバルネットワークと連携し、世界中の仲間たちとつながりながら、ローカルなアクションをグローバルな視点へと広げていきます。昨年はマレーシアでグローバルユースリトリートが開催され、日本からもユースが参加することができました。
こうした一つひとつの機会が、「知る」から「行動する」への一歩を生み出しています。

イギリス出身の動物行動学者、国連平和大使。1960年からタンザニアのゴンベで野生チンパンジーの長期調査を行い、チンパンジーが「道具を使う」ことを発見し、従来の人間観を覆した。晩年は活動家として、世界中で環境保全や平和の構築などを訴え、希望の言葉を人々へ伝えてきた。日本へは2025年の6月に来日し、同年10月に亡くなりました。
Roots & Shoots／ルーツ&シューツ
ジェーン・グドールのルーツ&シューツは、あらゆる年齢の若者を対象とした世界規模の環境および人道的プログラム。人、動物、そして環境に貢献するために、コミュニティマッピングを通して地域を探究し、自分の興味関心のあることについて一歩ずつ行動していく。世界75カ国に根づき、年間100万人が参加する。

The NPO Jane Goodall Institute Japan is taking a new step forward.
Your generous support will be used to empower children and young people to encounter the natural world and social challenges around them, and to develop the ability to think for themselves and take action.
Specifically, your contributions will support initiatives such as the Community Mapping Game and workshops that explore local challenges and resources; the Roots & Shoots Kickstart and Coordinator Courses; outreach classes in schools; youth conferences that bring together young people from across the country to learn and present their ideas; the development of educational materials for the next generation; and conservation activities through hands-on fieldwork.
We have received increasing requests from schools and communities, and through each program, we witness not only a growing need but also the immense potential and hope that emerges afterward.
In addition, by collaborating with the global network of the Jane Goodall Institute, we connect with peers around the world, expanding local actions into a global perspective. Last year, a Global Youth Retreat was held in Malaysia, where youth participants from Japan also had the opportunity to join.
Each of these opportunities creates a pathway—from awareness to action.
Ongoing support allows us to ensure that these initiatives are not one-time experiences, but continue as accessible, open learning opportunities for all.

Dr. Jane Goodall
A British primatologist and UN Messenger of Peace. Since 1960, she conducted long-term research on wild chimpanzees in Gombe, Tanzania, and made the groundbreaking discovery that chimpanzees use tools—challenging existing perceptions of what it means to be human. In her later years, she became a global activist, advocating for environmental conservation and peace, and sharing messages of hope around the world. She visited Japan in June 2025 and passed away in October of the same year.
Roots & Shoots
Founded by Jane Goodall, Roots & Shoots is a global environmental and humanitarian program for young people of all ages. Through community mapping, participants explore their local communities and take action—step by step—on issues they care about, benefiting people, animals, and the environment. The program is active in more than 75 countries, with over one million participants annually.
Jane Goodall Institute Japan (Non-profit Organization)
Jane Goodall Institute was established in 1977 by Dr. Jane Goodall. The organization is dedicated to chimpanzee research, wildlife protection, community led environmental conservation, and the advancement of women’s health and rights. Through programs such as Roots & Shoots, it also fosters the next generation of global leaders.
