With your donation, we plan to plant flowers together with the youth attending the March 1 Youth Conference, in memory of Dr. Jane Goodall, and create a butterfly garden.

昨年10月、私たちの創業者であり、家族であり、友であるジェーン・グドール博士が逝去されました。深い悲しみと向き合うと同時に、彼女がもたらしてくれた数えきれない奇跡と希望をあらためて感じ、そのレガシーを引き継いでいきたいという思いを、私たちはさらに強くしています。
そんな中、横浜インターナショナルスクールのRoots & Shootsのユースたちが、「ジェーン博士へのトリビュートとして、校内に木を植えられないだろうか」という想いから、行動を始めました。
訃報を知った数日後、仲間たちが集い、ジェーンの歩みを振り返りながら寄せ書きを作りました。そして植樹のアイデアが生まれ、どんな木を植えるかを話し合った結果、枝垂れ桜を植えるという目標が決まりました。その後、ファンドレイジングを行い、今年2月、植樹を迎えます。
さらに、3月1日（日）に横浜インターナショナルスクールで開催される「第3回Roots & Shootsユースカンファレンス」では、この木の周りに、参加者みんなで花を植えられないかと考えています。
生前、ジェーンは愛する夫を失った際、蝶やミツバチが訪れるようにと、お墓の周りにたくさんの花を植えました。そして彼女自身も、自分が亡くなったときには、生きものが集うバタフライガーデンをつくってほしいと願っていました。

当日ユースカンファレンスに参加できなくても、花を植えるという小さな行動に、力を貸していただけたら嬉しいです。
集まった資金は、当日植える花の苗の購入や、ユースカンファレンスの必要経費などに使用させていただきます。

Last October, Dr. Jane Goodall—our founder, our family, and our friend—passed away.
As we continue to sit with our deep sense of loss, we are also reminded of the countless miracles and hopes she brought into the world, and our determination to carry forward her legacy has only grown stronger.
In the midst of this, youth members of the Roots & Shoots group at Yokohama International School began to take action, asking themselves: “Is there a way we could plant a tree on campus as a tribute to Dr. Jane?”
Just a few days after hearing of her passing, the students gathered to celebrate Jane’s life and legacy and created a message board in her memory. The idea of planting a tree emerged and after discussing what kind of tree to plant, they decided on a weeping cherry tree. Through their fundraising efforts, the tree will be planted this February.
Furthermore, at the 3rd Roots & Shoots Youth Conference, to be held on Sunday, March 1, at Yokohama International School, we are hoping to invite all participants to plant flowers together around the tree.
During her life, when Jane lost her beloved husband, she planted many flowers around his grave so that butterflies and bees could visit. She also expressed her wish that, when she herself passed away, a butterfly garden—a place where living beings could gather—would be created.

With approximately ¥500, you can help purchase one flower seedling.
Even if you are unable to attend the Youth Conference in person, we would be grateful if you could support this meaningful act of planting flowers.
Funds raised will be used to purchase flower seedlings for the day, as well as to help cover essential expenses related to the Youth Conference.
