2021年よりアスカプロジェクトで世界中の先住民の土地を回ってきました。

先住民の多くは自然信仰です。彼らは「土地に生かしていただいている」という価値観のもと、自分達の土地で自然への祈りを紡ぎながら暮らしてきました。

各土地で出会った先住民の方々の聖地に祈りの場を作り、一緒にセレモニーを行うことで人種や文化を越えた繋がりを作ってきました。

Around the world, many indigenous cultures have a shared principle of cherishing nature. They understand that the plants, animals, and land around them provide and nurture their existence. Many indigenous peoples learned to care for the land around them with great respect and express gratitude through prayer.

Starting in 2021, members of the Aska Project have traveled to the sacred sites of various indigenous peoples worldwide. We held ceremonies together and developed deep connections with the people and land, regardless of race and cultural differences.

その土地の自然に対して同じ想いで祈る・・・。

宇宙からの目線で見た時どの土地も地球の一部です。

自然に対し祈ることは、他の土地にも祈ることになる。

だからこそ私達は「祈り」で人種や文化、言葉の違いを越えて、一つの地球という家に住む家族として繋がることができるのだと感じました。

Our prayers have similar depth and sincerity for land and nature. Looking at Earth from the Universe, all the lands are part of Earth.

When we pray to nature, we are also praying to all the lands included on Earth.

We are connected as a single Earth family under one roof, united in prayer to be a collective family with different ethnic, cultural, and language origins.

アースファミリーの集まる「まつり」を日本で！Let’s celebrate the gathering of Earth Family in Japan！

各国の先住民の方たちと繋がる中で、私達には一つの願いが生まれました。

それは

「これまで出会った先住民の方に、今度は日本に来てもらいたい‼」

という願いでした。

プロジェクトを支援してくれた人達が日本中にいます。

私達は支援し、そして参加してくれるコミュニティの皆さんの代表として、世界中を回ってきました。そんな日本にいる家族と世界で出会った家族を繋げ、大きな地球家族として集いたいと思いました。

As we connected with indigenous peoples from various countries, we felt inspired and wanted to invite them to Japan. We are very happy and proud to host them.

There are many people all over Japan who support and participate in this project.

When we traveled the world, we aimed to represent these communities.

To connect our community supporters with the indigenous families we met on our journeys, we will gather together and celebrate as one big global family, here in Japan.

日本神話のクニ・宮崎Miyazaki, Birthplace of Japanese Mythology

開催地は日本のクニヅクリのはじまりの地でもある宮崎県。

宮崎は古事記で描かれる神話の伝承地であり、初代天皇・神武天皇が日本のクニヅクリのために東征をはじめた土地です。先住民の方々に日本を伝え知ってもらうには、宮崎しかないと考えました。

宮崎の神話伝承スポットを以下にご紹介します。

The Earth Family Festival will be celebrated in Miyazaki Prefecture, considered the birthplace of “Kuni-Zukuri (Nation-Building)” in Japan.

Miyazaki is where the first Emperor of Japan, Jinmu, began his expansion East in order to unite and bring peace among the people and create the Nation of Japan. We felt that Miyazaki would be an ideal place to introduce Japan to the indigenous people.

Below are some of the places in Miyazaki where you can learn about the mythology of Japan.

宮崎神宮 Miyazaki-Jingu Shrine

日本の初代天皇である神武天皇を祀る神社。
父・鵜葦草葺不合尊（うがやふきあえずのみこと）、母・玉依姫命（たまよりひめのみこと）が祭られています。

The Miyazaki-Jingu shrine is dedicated to First Emperor of Japan, Jinmu, who is enshrined along with his father, Ugayafukiaezu no Mikoto, and mother, Tamayori Hime no Mikoto.

青島神社 Aoshima Shrine

青島のほぼ中央に鎮座する神社周囲1.5kmの青島全島が境内地となっています。

全島が熱帯・亜熱帯植物の群生地として、国の特別天然記念物に指定されています。
天孫降臨のニニギノミコトの息子であり、神武天皇の祖父にあたるヒコホホデミノミコトを御祭神として祀っています。

Aoshima shrine is located near the center of Aoshima (The Blue Island). The entire island is about 1.5 km in circumference, all of which is under care of the shrine.

This small island is connected by the Yayoi Bridge and is home to many subtropical plants, such as the Livistona tree and hibiscus flower. The Livistona tree is designated as a national natural monument.

The “gods” enshrined in this shrine, Hikohoho-demino-mikoto, Toyotama-himeno-mikoto, and Shiozutsuno-okami, are all from the legend of brothers: Yamasachi-hiko and Umisachi-hiko.

Hikohoho-demino refers to Yamasachi-hiko, and it is said he and Toyotama-hime married on Aoshima. Hikohoho-demino-mikoto is the son of Ninigino-mikoto and grandfather of Emperor Jinmu.

鵜戸神宮 Udo Shrine

神武天皇の父・ウガヤフキアエズノミコトを主祭神とし、皇祖神と神武天皇を祀る神社。

古代以来の海洋信仰の聖地でもあります。

Udo Shrine is one of Japan’s rare coastal shrines and is dedicated to three deities. The primary is Ugayafukiaez-no-mikoto, Emperor Jinmu’s father. Secondary is the ancestral gods of the Japanese imperial family. And last is Emperor Jinmu.

Since ancient times, Udo Shrine has also been a sacred place of maritime worship to the gods and goddesses of the sea.

江田神社・禊池 Eda Shrine・Lake Misogi

江田神社は日本最初の夫婦といわれる国生み神・イザナギノミコトとイザナミノミコトを祀る神社です。

江田神社がある森には神話に出てくる伝承地の禊池があります。

イザナギノミコトはここで体を禊ぎ、たくさんの神を生みました。

Eda shrine is dedicated to Izanagi-no-mikoto and Izanami-no-mikoto, the gods considered to have created the Japanese archipelago; and said to be the first married couple in Japan. Eda Shrine is also known as “the birthplace of Misogi (purification) and Norito (ritual prayer)”.

The Sun Goddess Amaterasu and her siblings the Moon Deity Tsukuyomi and the Storm God Susanoo were born in a purification ritual performed in the nearby Misogi pond by their father Izanagi.

平和台公園 Peace Pagoda Park (Heiwadai Park)

宮崎神宮のすぐ近くに平和台公園があります。

そこに建つ平和の塔の正式名称は『八紘一宇の塔』。

この言葉は日本書紀に記載されている、神武天皇が橿原で即位した際に述べた言葉が起源となります。

八紘とは8つの方向からで「全世界」を意味し、宇とは家を表します。 八紘一宇とは、世界のみんなが一つの家に平和に暮らす理想を願った言葉なのです。つまり「アースファミリー/地球家族」と言う意味です。

Heiwadai Park or Peace Tower Park was built in 1940 to celebrate the 2,600th anniversary of the ascension of Emperor Jimmu, on what is believed to be the original site of his capital. The Peace Tower or Heiwadainoto was constructed with stones sent from all around Asia. The Peace Tower was meant to symbolize a united world.

The phrase “Hakko Ichiu” is on the front of the tower, which means "United under one roof”. These words originated from the words mentioned in the “Chronicles of Japan” when Emperor Jinmu ascended to the throne in Kashihara, Nara Prefecture. The Peace tower is also referred to as the Peace Pagoda, the “Pagoda of Eight Directions (Hakko) and One World (Ichiu)”. Hakko represents the “whole world” in all eight directions, “ichi” means “one” and “U” means “house”, so the phrase is an expression of prayer that the entire “world” lives peacefully under one roof/house.

In other words, it would mean “Earth Family”!
