シャスタの「ウィネメン・ウィントゥ族」に給水車を贈ることで、地球への祈りを取り戻します！
By gifting a much needed water-tanker truck to the Winnemem Wintu Tribe of Mount Shasta-McCloud River we will be helping them maintain their mission praying for Earth’s water and more.
ストーリー
アメリカのカリフォルニア州、シャスタで、地球への祈りを続けてきた先住民族「ウィネメン・ウィントゥ族」の人々。今、彼らは、元々住んでいた土地を買い戻し、そこに新しいエコビレッジを創ろうとしています。
物質中心の世界を生きる現代の人々が忘れてしまった、大地や水へ感謝と祈り。
太古から伝わるそうした叡智を受け継ぎ、連綿と守ってきた彼らから今、現代社会に暮らす我々は、これからの地球の生き方を学ぶべきタイミングが来ています。
In Mount Shasta, California USA, the indigenous Winnemem Wintu people have maintained prayers for water, fire, and land spirits for many generations. They are now trying to buy back ancestral lands where they once lived and create a new eco-village.
Many people currently living in a material-centered society have forgotten how precious and vital earth and water are to us.
It is up to us to realize the time is now for all of us to learn how to live harmoniously with nature.
From ancient times the indigenous people have been protecting the wisdom and knowledge gained from their ancestors and passing it down through their generations.
プロジェクトの活動を通して彼らと深く繋がった私たちは、そんな彼らが、苦しい生活を送りながら、なんとか祈りの灯火を絶やさずに生きてきた現状を知ります。
何かできることはないかと対話を重ねて見出した答えが「給水車を送る」ことで経済的な循環を生み、祈りを中心として生きる先住民たちが、その生き方取り戻すサポートをする、ということでした。
We the members of the Aska Project have connected deeply with the Winnemem through our project activities. Despite the difficulties of their day to day living activities, they have managed to maintain what was sacred to them. Their unwavering focus for their sacred prayers, songs, and dance ceremonies inherited from their ancestors.
We asked the Winnemem, is there anything we can do to help support your tribe so they can continue their sacred prayers unhindered. After much dialogue, we developed the idea of gifting a water-tanker truck. This truck would allow the tribe to take various projects offered by the government, fighting fires, reforestation, land restoration, and the like, which have always been their specialties.
This revenue source would help the tribal community regain their way of life and maintain their lives centered on prayer, appreciation and keeping in harmony with nature.
