私山田枝梨乃は、6月10日で24歳の誕生日を迎えます！
今年は、誕生日プレゼントの代わりに、安全で清潔な水が届いていない世界中の人々のための寄付をお願いできませんか？

■ 私とウォーターエイドJapanとの繋がり
2017年3月、世界の水問題に興味を持っていた私が見つけたイベントが、ウォーターエイドJapan主催のものでした。授業形式で水問題について考える体験をした後、自分が学ぶために参加したにもかかわらず「私も同じように世界の水問題について多くの人に知ってもらいたい」と授業をする側に魅力を感じました。
ウォーターエイドJapanには『世界の水・トイレ・衛生の問題やウォーターエイドの活動をより多くの人に知ってもらうための活動を行っている』スピーカークラブが存在します。スピーカーになるために講習会を受けてから早3年。ウォーターエイドJapanの活動に関わっていく中で、スピーカーでなければ出会わなかった人との繋がりが生まれたり、ウォーターエイドの海外事務局の方とお話しするなど貴重な体験もさせてもっています。
■ 私がウォーターエイドJapanのために寄付を集めようと思ったきっかけ
2018年、大阪マラソンのチャリティーで10万円の寄付と共にフルマラソンを走りました。この時も寄付先はウォーターエイドJapanを選びました。あれから2年経ち、今年もウォーターエイドJapanの活動に寄付で貢献したいなという気持ちから、バースデードネーションという方法を取らせて頂きました。
■ 寄付金の使いみち
認定NPO法人Water Aid Japanに、いただいた寄付金が額寄付されます。いただいた寄付金は水・衛生プロジェクトおよび日本国内での水・衛生問題を広く伝えるための活動に使わせてもらうそうです。
バースデードネーションは知り合いの方がやっており、初めて知ったとき「なんて素敵な取り組みだ！」と感動したのを覚えています。
私自身、ケニアとマラウイを訪れ、痛いほど水のありがたさ、大事さを感じてきました。（ちなみに、現在はマラウイを対象に地下水流動の研究をしています。写真はその時のものです）

The connection between me and WaterAid Japan
In March 2017, I found an event hosted by WaterAid Japan that I was interested in the world's water issues. After the experience of thinking about water issues in a classroom format, I was fascinated by the side of the classroom because even though I was there to learn, "I want as many people to know about the world's water issues as I do.
WaterAid Japan has a speaker's club that works to educate more people about the world's water, toilet and sanitation issues and WaterAid's activities. It's been three years since I took a training course to become a speaker. Throughout my involvement with WaterAid Japan, I have made connections with people I would not have met if I hadn't been a speaker, and I have had the opportunity to talk with people from the WaterAid overseas secretariat.
How did I decide to raise money for WaterAid Japan?
In 2018, I ran a full marathon with a donation of 100,000 yen for the Osaka Marathon charity. Again, we chose WaterAid Japan as our donor. Two years have passed since then, and I wanted to contribute to the activities of WaterAid Japan through donations this year, so I decided to do a birthday donation.
How to spend your donation
Donations will be made to an authorized NPO, Water Aid Japan. The donation will be used for water and sanitation projects and activities to promote water and sanitation issues in Japan.
When I first learned about the Birthday Nationals, I thought, "What a great initiative!" .
Having visited Kenya and Malawi myself, I have painfully felt the value and importance of water. (Incidentally, I'm currently learning on groundwater flow in Malawi. )
